Satu pendakwaan oleh pihak berkuasa AS kelmarin menuduh laman berkenaan menyebabkan para pemilik hak cipta kerugian sekurang-kurangnya AS$500 juta (RM1.5 bilion).

Menurut Jabatan Keadilan AS dalam satu kenyataan, Kim Schmitz atau lebih dikenali sebagai Kim Dotcom, 37, yang merupakan pengasas Megaupload.com dan kini Ketua Pegawai Inovatif laman itu serta tiga lagi kakitangan laman berkenaan telah ditangkap kelmarin di New Zealand atas permintaan beberapa pegawai AS.

Schmitz merupakan seorang jutawan Jerman.

Yayasan Perbatasan Elektronik yang mempertahankan hak kebebasan bersuara dan digital di online menyatakan dalam satu kenyataan bahawa: “Pelaksanaan prosedur jenayah antarabangsa seperti ini ke atas isu dasar-dasar Internet telah menetapkan satu contoh duluan yang menggerunkan.”

“Jika AS boleh menangkap seorang rakyat Belanda di New Zealand berhubung satu dakwaan hak cipta, apakah yang akan berlaku seterusnya?”

Laman Megaupload adalah unik bukan hanya kerana ia mempunyai kandungan muat turun yang besar tetapi juga kerana ia mendapat sokongan daripada selebriti berprofil tinggi, pemuzik dan penerbit kandungan yang kerap menjadi mangsa pelanggaran hak cipta serta cetak rompak.

Sebelum laman itu ditutup, ia mendapat sokongan daripada bintang realiti televisyen AS, Kim Kardashian, penyanyi Alicia Keys dan Kanye West dan beberapa selebriti lain.

Syarikat Megaupload itu menyenaraikan suami Keys, Swizz Beatz yang merupakan seorang pemuzik sebagai Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif.

Namun, Beatz yang berkahwin dengan Keys pada 2010 tidak dinamakan dalam pendakwaan itu. – Agensi

Always carry camera

HONG KONG – Sepasukan anggota kastam Hong Kong menyerbu beberapa pejabat, premis tempatan dan suit hotel mewah di sini dalam siasatan ke atas laman perkongsian fail Internet, Megaupload.com.

Siasatan berkenaan yang dilakukan di seluruh dunia dikendalikan oleh Biro Siasatan Persekutuan (FBI).

Seramai 100 anggota kastam menyertai serbuan di sini kelmarin dan merampas sebahagian besar bukti digital selain aset haram mencecah HK$330 juta (RM130.4 juta).

“Semua aset ini dibeku kan di bawah undang-undang Hong Kong. Operasi kami masih diteruskan,” kata pihak kastam Hong Kong dalam satu kenyataan.

Dalam operasi berkenaan, pihak berkuasa turut menyerbu beberapa suit hotel mewah yang kadar sewanya HK$100,000 (RM40,010) sehari dan menemui beberapa pelayan berkelajuan tinggi dan skrin televisyen yang disyaki memiliki kaitan dengan kes berkenaan.

Serbuan dibuat susulan penutupan Megaupload.com oleh pihak berkuasa Amerika Syarikat (AS) Khamis lalu selepas laman web itu didakwa terbabit dalam aktiviti cetak rompak dan pelanggaran hak cipta.

Pengasas laman Megaupload.com, Kim Dotcom yang juga dikenali sebagai Kim Schmitz kini ditahan di New Zealand selepas polis menyerbu kediamannya di negara itu.

Warga Jerman berusia 37 tahun itu yang memiliki status penduduk tetap New Zealand dan Hong Kong dinafikan ikat jamin bersama tiga lelaki lain semasa mereka dihadapkan di sebuah mahkamah daerah di Auckland kelmarin.

Dalam serbuan di banglo mewah yang diduduki oleh Dotcom di Auckland, polis New Zealand turut merampas beberapa kereta mewah berharga AS$4.8 juta (RM14.9 juta) termasuk sebuah Cadillac merah jambu keluaran 1959 dan sebuah kereta Rolls Royce Phantom.

Dalam perkembangan berkaitan, Jabatan Kehakiman AS dan FBI telah mendakwa tujuh individu yang dituduh “bertanggungjawab melakukan aktiviti cetak rompak besar-besaran secara atas talian menerusi Megaupload.com dan beberapa laman web berkaitan”.

Megaupload menyebabkan kerugian lebih AS$500 juta (RM1.55 bilion) kepada pemilik-pemilik hak cipta dengan menawarkan salinan cetak rompak filem, program televisyen dan kandungan lain.

Keep the camera steady

Holding the camera at arm`s length when shooting is not conducive to achieving the sharpest possible images, but there are ways you can minimise the risk of the camera shake reducing the sharpness of your shots. To provide greater stability bend your arms so that your elbows are braced against your body. Another way to avoid camera shake is to lean againts doorway or wall. In lower light when the shutter speed is likely to be slow try to find something to place the camera on to keep it steady. As an extra precaution set the camera to self-timer so that you eliminate the problem of shake when you press the shutter button. Better still, keep a small tabletop tripod in your camera bag for such occasions.

Use the right mode

Getting the best results involves more than just setting the camera to automatic and firing away. Compacts with manual controls obviosly offer the most bersatility and control the quality and ‘look’ of your images. But even fairly basic compact now offer various modes in the menu that, if selected with care, will give you better result than you’d get from plain old auto. These modes adjust the parameters specifically for the subject you’re shooting – not just the exposure but the focus mode, white balance, colour, sharpening and other settings.

Largest image size

Selecting the smallest resolution on your compact might mean that you get many more shots on your SD card but it will be at the expense of image quality. This means that if you should want to make an enlargement from a part of the image, or imdeed yje emyore frame, the picture will start to suffer from pixellation and your print will have fuzzy appearance. If your shot turns out to be gppd enough to be entered in a competition, be published or even hung on the wall, this would be a distinct disadvantage. It`s better to carry a spare card, in either your camera case or wallet.

Compose carefully

Many photographers take great care with their composition when using DSLR, but are much haphazard when using compact. Using the LCD screen does encourage a more casual approach, but try to avoid falling into that trap. Most compacts feature an option to dispaly grid lines on the screen to help you keeo the camera level so that, for instance, the horizan line in a landscape stays straight, or to assist you in placing your subject in the optimum position. This is known as the rule of thirds. Of course, these lines do not appear on your finished shots.

Take control of your flash

Most people assime that flash is there for shots when there is little light, particularly indoors. However, even outdoors in bright light, flash can be useful. For instance, if you taking a potrait on a sunny day it is all too easy for the camera to read for the sky and underexpose the face. Creating silhouette. By switching on the flash, the camera will fire a small amount of light that will balance the subject with the background.

Shoot macro

The smaller sensors of compact cameras make them especially suited to macro work. By choosing the macro mode – usually a flower symbol – you will be able to get in as close as one or two centimetres. Even at wide apertures, compacts have the advantage of giving greater magnification and depth of field. Remember, just moving your viewpoint a couple centimetres, backwards of forwards, is all that will be necessary to get pin-sharp focusing, but when shooting this close make sure you do not cast a shadow over your subject with your camera.

Better portraits

Selecting the portrait scene mode will normally tell the camera to choose a large aperture than it might if set to auto. The reduced depth of field that results will render the background slightly out of focus. This emphasises the subject and makes them stand out from the background. Another way to reduce the sharpeness of the background is to step back from your subject and zoom in by using the telephoto setting. This will also fill the frame, making a far better overall composition.

Colour balance

When you set your camera to auto it will select the colour balance for you. In general shooting conditions this can be a time-saving advantage, but in situations where the colour of the light adds atmosphere to the shot, such as when shooting a sunset, the camera may try to ‘cool’ that wonderful warm light that attracted you in the firts place. In this situation, make sure the colour balance is set manually.

Shoot raw

Many compact cameras have facility to shoot raw and JPEG. The raw format is the equivalent of a film negative, and contains much more information than JPEG, which compresses data to reduce the file sizes. Like a film negative, you will have to ‘process’ a raw image, which requires more time and particular software. However, the quality will be far higher and the range if tones greater. You will be able to output the image at a far higher resolution than JPEG, so bigger and better-quality enlargements will be possible.

Use the lowest ISO you can

Most compacts deliver good image quality at the lower ISO sensitivities, such as ISO 100, but due to their very small sensors few manage to maintain that quality as the sensivity increases, and with most models it`s best to avoid straying above ISO 1000 except in emergencies.

Many cameras are set by default to auto ISO, which means that it`s the camera that decides this important parameter and the user isn`t even told which ISO has been set. The first thng to do,then, is switch to manual conditions will allow. Next, select as low an ISO setting as the conditions will allow. Beware, though, that too low an ISO can be worse than high, because resulting slow shutter speed can induce blur due to camera shake.

Futsal is a variant of association football that is played on a smaller pitch and mainly played indoors. Its name is derived from the Portuguese futebol de salão and the Spanish fútbol de salón (colloquially fútbol sala), which can be translated as “hall football” or “indoor football”. During the sport’s second world championships held in Madrid in 1985, the name fútbol de salón was used. Since then, all other names have been officially and internationally changed to futsal.

Futsal is played between two teams each with five players, one of whom is the goalkeeper. Unlimited substitutes per team are permitted. Unlike some other forms of indoor football, the game is played on a hard court surface delimited by lines; walls or boards are not used. Futsal is also played with a smaller ball with less bounce than a regular football. The rules create an emphasis on improvisation, creativity and technique as well as ball control and passing in small spaces.

Rules

As international governing bodies of futsal, FIFA and AMF are responsible for maintaining and promulgating the official rules of their respective versions of futsal. Like football, futsal has laws that define all aspects of the game, including what may be changed to suit local competitions and leagues. There are seventeen laws in the Futsal Laws of the Game.

Players, equipment and officials

There are five players on each team, one of whom is the goalkeeper. The maximum number of substitutes allowed is seven, with unlimited substitutions during the match. Substitutes can come on even when the ball is in play. If a team has fewer than three players in the team, the match is abandoned.

The kit is made up of a jersey or shirt with sleeves, shorts, socks, shinguards made out of rubber or plastic, and shoes with rubber soles. The goalkeeper is allowed to wear long trousers and a different coloured kit, to distinguish himself from the other players in the team and the referee. Jewellery is not allowed, as are other items that could be dangerous to the player wearing the effects or to other active participants.

The match is controlled by a referee, who enforces the Laws of the Game, and the first referee is the only one who can abandon the match because of interference from outside the pitch. This referee is also assisted by a second referee. The decisions made by the referees are final and can only be changed if the referees think it is necessary and play has not restarted. There is also a third referee and a timekeeper, who are provided with equipment to keep a record of fouls in the match. In the event of injury to the referee or second referee, the third referee will replace the second referee.

Futsal Pitch

In front of each goal is an area known as the penalty area. This area is created by drawing quarter-circles with a 6 m (7 yd) radius from the goal line, centred on the goalposts. The upper part of each quarter-circle is then joined by a 3.16 m (3.46 yd) line running parallel to the goal line between the goalposts. The line marking the edge of the penalty area is known as the penalty area line. The penalty area marks where the goalkeeper is allowed to touch the ball with his hands. The penalty mark is six metres from the goal line when it reaches the middle of the goalposts. The second penalty mark is 10 metres (11 yd) from the goal line when it reaches the middle of the goalposts. A penalty kick from the penalty spot is awarded if a player commits a foul inside the penalty area. The second penalty spot is used if a player commits his team’s sixth foul in the opposing team’s half or in his own half in the area bordered by the halfway line and an imaginary line parallel to the halfway line passing through the second penalty mark; the free kick is taken from the second penalty mark.

The start and restart of play

At the beginning of the match, a coin toss is used to decide who will start the match. A kick-off is used to signal the start of play and is also used at the start of the second half and any periods of extra time. It is also used after a goal has been scored, with the other team starting the play. After a temporary stoppage for any reason not mentioned in the Laws of the Game, the referee will drop the ball where the play was stopped, provided that, prior to the stoppage, the ball was in play and had not crossed either the touch lines or goal lines.

If the ball goes over the goal line or touchline, hits the ceiling, or the play is stopped by the referee, the ball is out of play. If it hits the ceiling of an indoor arena, play is restarted with a kick-in to the opponents of the team that last touched the ball, under the place where it hit the ceiling.

Misconduct

Players are cautioned with a yellow card and sent off with a red card.

A direct free kick can be awarded to the opposing team if a player succeeds or attempts to kick or trip an opponent, jumps, charges or pushes an opponent, or strikes or attempts to strike an opponent. Holding, touching or spitting at an opponent are offenses that are worthy of a direct free kick, as are sliding in to play the ball while an opponent is playing it or carrying, striking or throwing the ball (except the goalkeeper). These are all accumulated fouls. The direct free kick is taken where the infringement occurred, unless it is awarded to the defending team in their penalty area, in which case the free kick may be taken from anywhere inside the penalty area. A penalty kick is awarded if a player commits one of the fouls that are worthy of a direct free kick inside his own penalty area. The position of the ball does not matter as long as it is in play.

An indirect free kick is awarded to the opposing team if a goalkeeper clears the ball but then touches it with his hands before anyone else, if he controls the ball with his hands when it has been kicked to him by a teammate, or if he touches or controls the ball with his hands or feet in his own half for more than four seconds.[24] An indirect free kick is also awarded to the opposing team if a player plays in a dangerous manner, deliberately obstructs an opponent, prevents the goalkeeper from throwing the ball with his hands or anything else for which play is stopped to caution or dismiss a player. The indirect free kick is taken from the place where the infringement occurred.

Yellow and red cards are both used in futsal. The yellow card is to caution players over their actions, and, if they get two, they are given a red card, which means they are sent off the field. A yellow card is shown if a player shows unsporting behaviour, dissent, persistent infringement of the Laws of the Game, delaying the restart of play, failing to respect the distance of the player from the ball when play is being restarted, infringement of substitution procedure or entering, re-entering and leaving the pitch without the referee’s permission. A player is shown the red card and sent off if they engage in serious foul play, violent conduct, spitting at another person, or denying the opposing team a goal by handling the ball (except the goalkeeper inside his penalty area). Also punishable with a red card is denying an opponent moving towards the player’s goal a goalscoring opportunity by committing an offence punishable by a free kick or a penalty kick and using offensive, insulting or abusive language or gestures. A player who has been sent off must leave the vicinity of the pitch. A substitute player is permitted to come on two minutes after a teammate has been sent off, unless a goal is scored before the end of the two minutes. If a team of five players scores against a team of fewer than five players, another player can be added to the team with fewer than five players. If the teams are equal when the goal is scored or if the team with fewer players scores, both teams remain with the same number of players.

The Zonda R debuted at the Geneva Motor Show 2007, using the 6.0 litre V12 engine sourced from the race version of the Mercedes-Benz CLK-GTR. The Zonda R’s competition lies with track-biased cars such as the Ferrari FXX and Maserati MC12 Corsa rather than the original Zonda’s road competitors as it is not road-homologated.

Despite sharing much of the Zonda’s shape, the R is almost entirely new, sharing only 10% of the Zonda F’s components. Chassis

The central carbon chassis incorporates a roll cage and a rubber racing fuel cell with 4 fuel pumps and quick refuel filler cap, similar to GT race cars. The wheelbase has been increased by 47 mm (1.9 in) to increase stability. The front and rear subframes are brand-new, built to accommodate new suspension geometry, and produced in Avional. The slick-shod wheels are new forged-magnesium center-lock models, which in conjunction with on-board pneumatic airjacks (again, like the FXX) allow rapid change of the entire wheel assemblies.

The car senses, displays and logs information about the amount of downforce that is generated at each wheel at all times. It is thought that this system will enable owners to adjust set-up according to track conditions and to improve their cornering technique.

Bodywork

In addition to the wheelbase increase (47 mm), overall length has increased by 394 mm (15.5 in) and track by 50 mm (2.0 in). The bodywork and aerodynamics have been altered to offer maximum downforce, featuring a longer front bonnet with flaps, a closed underbody and a new rear overhang with adjustable rear wing and race-derived diffuser. These are intended to translate into increased aerodynamic efficiency and downforce for maximum cornering speed. It is also noted that the car’s new rear bodywork is minimal in the extreme, being composed mostly of vent. This is thought to be symptomatic of the need to keep the engine cool enough, even under hard track use. Again, this is similar to the gutted bodywork of the Ferrari FXX Evoluzione.

Engine

Output has increased to 740 bhp (552 kW; 750 PS) at 8500 rpm and 525 lb·ft (712 N·m) of torque. A lightweight carbon fibre high performance intake system, racing multiple disc centered clutch and Formula One-style exhaust system, hydroformed in Inconel 625 and ceramic coated for optimal heat dissipation, have been added. The engine is combined with a 6-speed transverse-mounted manual sequential synchronized gearbox. Engine was built by Mercedes-AMG.

Interior

The car’s interior is spartan reflecting the car’s racetrack aspirations and intended home, and features bespoke seats, customized to the driver to offer maximum support. As before, the Digitek instrumentation provides essential information and the sophisticated telemetry allows a variety of sensors to monitor numerous aspects of the car.

Biography Little Bird

A garrincha is a small tropical bird, and legend has it that Manoel Francisco Dos Santos liked to hunt garrinchas as a youngster in the backstreets of his village, thus acquiring his nickname.

International defenders and goalkeepers probably called him something less quaint as he darted past them time after time or foxed them with his astonishing “banana” kick, but now the name Garrincha is firmly part of Brazil’s great football legacy.

The Brazilian winger was the eternal child, a spindly, fun-loving character who drove his coaches to distraction. One said he thought he had the mental age of four.

On the pitch he was one of the most exciting ball players ever, thrilling spectators with his exceptional dribbling skills.

Yet it is a miracle he was able to even kick a football, such were the physical and growing problems he had as a boy.

An operation left him with one knee pointing outwards, while his backbone and hip were also affected.

Revelation

Yet Garrincha burst onto the scene at the 1958 World Cup in Sweden, dazzling all those who came up against him with a catalogue of feints, dummies and lightening breaks.

His balance and speed made him virtually unstoppable, and his action was so original and quick that few defenders could ever get the better of him.

In 1962 he was at the peak of his considerable and explosive powers at the World Cup in Chile in 1962, when he emerged from the injured Pele’s shadow to inspire his team to the title.

He was voted player of the tournament – despite being sent off in the semi-final against Chile – after scoring twice against both England and the hosts.

Drink problem

His personal life had a darker side and he already had serious problems with alcohol when he arrived in England for the 1966 World Cup.

Always a controversial figure, he caused a storm when he left his wife and eight children to marry a local singer.

He was also in dispute with the income tax authorities and with his club Botafogo over his pay.

He did help the club to five domestic titles but his drinking led to his ruin, and despite several stays in rehabilitation centres and drying out clinics, the Brazilian could never kick the habit.

It finally caught up with him on January 20, 1983 when he contracted pneumonia and died in hospital.

He played 50 times for Brazil, despite several breaks due to injury, ending his career at the 1966 World Cup against Hungary (1-3), his only defeat with the national side.

Performing a back flip is always an impressive feat, so doing one despite having only one leg takes some beating.

However, gymnast Adam Starr, who lost a leg to cancer in 2009, can do them for fun and has posted the evidence on YouTube.

Adam lost his leg after suffering lymphangiosarcoma, a rare cancer of lymphatic vessels, and made the video in the hope that it might inspire other amputees, as well as impress his loved ones.

He told MailOnline: ‘I was hoping to show my friends and family what I was able to do again, but I also hoped that other amputees would enjoy it. I’ve been inspired by videos of other amputees on YouTube, such as Sarah Reinertsen.’

Adam trained as a gymnast for 11 years, but the day he shot the video was the first time he’d tried flips since losing his leg.

He said: ‘I had been thinking that I felt strong enough to do a standing back-flip off of one leg – it wasn’t until this week that I finally got to the gym to try it!

‘Landing is probably the hardest part – its all about balance!

‘I’ve tried to stay active since my amputation, but recovery has been a very long process. However, I’ve gotten back into downhill skiing, swimming, and biking. I weight train most days of the week.’

His acrobatics are an incredible sight and have drawn plenty of praise from YouTube users.

MINNESOTA, Amerika Syarikat (AS) – Seorang ahli gimnastik membuktikan dia masih boleh melakukan aksi akrobatik meskipun hanya mempunyai sebelah kaki.

Adam Starr, kehilangan kaki hingga ke paras lutut akibat kanser pada 2009, memuat naik video dia sedang melakukan aksi lompat kuang ke laman perkongsian video, YouTube yang bertajuk Adam’s First Time Back At The Gym.

Lelaki berusia 21 tahun itu merakam aksi berkenaan ketika berada di kelab Gymnastik Northfield, Minnesota. Ini sekali gus membuktikan tiada halangan untuknya melakukan aksi yang pernah dilakukan sebelum dia kehilangan kaki kanannya.

“Saya berharap dapat memberi inspirasi kepada mereka yang turut kehilangan kaki seperti saya,” katanya kepada MailOnline.

Adam berkecimpung dalam dunia gimnastik sejak berumur 11 tahun. Namun ini adalah pertama kali dia membuat lompatan balik kuang sejak kakinya dipotong.

Polis yang mengumumkan penutupan jalan utama ke pusat bandar raya kelihatan berusaha sedaya upaya untuk membolehkan orang ramai meneruskan urusan harian, seperti memberi panduan laluan alternatif bagi membolehkan mereka pergi ke tempat bekerja, premis perniagaan dan kediaman.

Kebanyakan premis perniagaan di sekitar pusat bandar seperti di Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman dan Jalan Bukit Bintang turut ditutup, menyebabkan pemilik perniagaan berdepan kerugian.

Pengerusi Gabungan Pilihan Raya Bersih dan Adil (Bersih), Datuk S. Ambiga; Presiden Pas, Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang dan Ketua Pergerakan Pemuda UMNO, Khairy Jamaludin merupakan antara 1,401 orang yang ditahan polis kerana menyertai perhimpunan haram di ibu negara hari ini.

Turut ditahan, Timbalan Presiden Pas, Mohamad Sabu; dua Naib Presiden parti itu, Datuk Mahfuz Omar dan Salehuddin Ayob, Pengerusi Kelab 1Malaysia, Datuk Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim; Naib Presiden Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR), Tian Chua serta Ahli Parlimen Subang, R. Sivarasa.

Ambiga dan Abdul Hadi yang masing-masing dibawa untuk siasatan lanjut ke Ibu Pejabat Polis Kontinjen Kuala Lumpur di sini, bagaimanapun dibebaskan selepas keterangan mereka dirakamkan pada pukul 6.30 petang ini.

Ketua Polis Negara, Tan Sri Ismail Omar berkata, sejak pukul 9 pagi hingga 5 petang, polis telah membuat 1,401 tangkapan membabitkan 1,273 lelaki, 115 wanita, 12 orang kanak-kanak lelaki dan seorang kanak-kanak perempuan.

Beliau berkata, kesemua mereka ditahan untuk siasatan dan sebahagian besarnya dibawa ke Pusat Latihan Polis Kuala Lumpur (Pulapol) Jalan Semarak.

Menurut Ismail, perhimpunan haram diadakan di dua lokasi iaitu Jalan Pudu berhampiran Hentian Puduraya dan luar Stadium Merdeka itu berlaku setelah polis menolak permohonan permit kepada kumpulan terbabit untuk mengadakan perhimpunan dalam stadium-stadium di ibu negara.

Beliau berkata, kumpulan terbabit dianggarkan berjumlah antara 5,000 hingga 6,000 orang itu mulai keluar kira-kira pukul 2 petang dan berkumpul di dua lokasi berkenaan.

“Bagi kumpulan yang berhimpun di Jalan Pudu, mereka bergerak dan berkumpul menuju ke Dataran Merdeka.

“Apabila mereka disekat oleh anggota polis yang bertugas, diberikan nasihat dan amaran bersurai, mereka enggan bersurai sebaliknya bertindak merempuh pasukan keselamatan sedang bertugas,” katanya.

Beliau berkata, tindakan tersebut menyebabkan anggota polis dari Pasukan Simpanan Persekutuan (FRU) tiada pilihan dan terpaksa menyembur gas pemedih mata serta pancutan air ke arah mereka.

Suatu ketika dahulu apabila membincangkan soal ikan hiasan, ramai berpendapat pemeliharaannya adalah hanya sekadar hobi kerana struktur, bentuk, jenis dan rupa haiwan itu berjaya menarik perhatian. Kini, ramai mulai sedar ikan hiasan bukan sekadar hobi, tetapi boleh dimanafaatkan sebagai pelaburan mampu menjana pendapatan mencecah ribuan ringgit.

Industri ikan hiasan pada hari ini mempunyai masa depan cerah dan mempunyai daya saing tinggi di pasaran global. Peternakkan haiwan itu mampu memberi pulangan mata wang asing kepada negara kerana hampir 95 peratus daripada pengeluaran ikan hiasan adalah untuk dieksport, manakala selebihnya bagi pasaran domestik. Melihat kepada potensi industri ini, pihak kerajaan telah merangka beberapa strategi, garis panduan dan penambahbaikan supaya indsutri ini tidak tercicir seterusnya menyumbang kepada komoditi negara.

Peranan tumbuhan akuatik.

Ciri utama kesesuaian tumbuhan akuatik untuk akuarium ialah tahan hdiup di dalam air dan mempunyai bentuk yang menarik sebagai hiasan dalaman akuarium:

*Kepentingan tumbuhan akuatik di dalam akuarium bertujuan menyerap bahan toksik dihasilkan dari perkumuhan ikan dan isi makanan ikan. Sisa makanan dan bahan perkumuhan akan mendap di dasar akuarium dan menjadi baja kepada tumbuhan akuatik.

*Tumbuhan akuatik mengeluarkan oksigen dari proses fotosintesis. Gas oksigen ini akan digunakan ikan untuk proses pernafasan.

*Tumbuhan akuatik berfungsi sebagai tempat ikan kecil berlindung dari musuh.

Industri ikan hiasan adalah satu komoditi utama

Industri ikan hiasan adalah satu komoditi utama disenaraikan dalam Dasar Pertanian Negara Ketiga (DPN 3) selain udang harimau, tilapia merah dan siakap.

Kadar purata peningkatan pengeluaran ikan hiasan secara tahunan adalah 30.3 peratus sejak 1991. Pengeluaran ikan hiasan negara bermula 2001 berjumlah sekita 338 juta ekor bernilai RM81.03 juta.

Di Malaysia, Johor adalah pengeluar utama ikan hiasan dengan jumlah 68.16 ekor bernilai RM14.18 juta atau 21.3 peratus dan diikuti Perak dan Selangor.

Saiz dagangan ikan hiasan di pasaran

Saiz perdagangan ikan hiasan dan produk berkaitan dalam pasaran global dianggarkan mencecah RM27 bilion (ASD7.2 billion)

Negara pengimport utama Amerika Syarikat (25.25 peratus), Negara-negara Kesatuan Eropah terutamanya Jerman (9.23 peratus), Perancis (8.41 peratus), United Kingdom (8.25 peratus) dan Jepun (11.61 peratus).

Negara Asia pula lebih dikenali sebagai negara pengeluar utama kepada pasaran ini. Asia setakat ini mewakili 59 peratus pasaran ikan hiasan dunia apabila Singapura muncul sebagai negara pasaran global terbesar (22.7 peratus) diikuti Malaysia (7.87 peratus).

Ciri ikan hiasan

Kebanyakan ikan hiasan mempunyai sisik nipis berlendir berfungsi sebagai pelindung daripada bakteria. Kulit ikan mengandungi chromatophoraes iaitu pigmen sel memberi warna tertentu kepada ikan. Ciri istimewa ikan hiasan boleh dilihat pada warna, sisik, saiz, bentuk badan, sirip, cara dan tabiat makan, jantina dan gaya berenang.

Jenis ikan hiasan punyai potensi

Flower Horn

Ikan hiasan paling digemari di Malaysia. Ikan ini unik kerana boleh berubah warnan melalui pemberian bahan kimia tertentu di samping faktor genetik ikan.

Corydoras

Sejenis ikan hiasan air tawar berasal dari Amerika Selatan yang digunakan sebagai bahan pembuatan kosmetik di negara maju.

Cichlasoma Severum

Sejenis jenis hiasan air tawar berasal dari South Arhazone, Amerika Syarikat. Tubuhnya pendek dan gemuk dengan warna dasar bervariasi coklat kekuningan atau hitam kecoklatan. Jenis ikan ini juga mempunyai nilai komersial tinggi.

Hiasan Diskus (Symphysodon Discus)

Sejenis ikan hiasan air tawar berasal dari sungai Amazon, Brazil. Bentuk tubuhnya pipih, mirip ikan bawal dengan warna dasar coklat kemerah-merahan. Antara ikan hiasan terkenal. Ia berasal dari China dan mempunyai sifat suka bermain di dasar dan hanya sesekali berenang.

Arowana

Arowana adalah ikan berpontensi tinggi yang tergolong dalam keluarga ikan ‘karuhun’ iaitu Osteoglasidae atau keluarga ikan lidah bertulang. Ikan ini digelar sedemikian kerana mulutnya berbentuk tulang berfungsi sebagai sebagai gigi. Arowana memiliki pelbagai nama timangan seperti Ikan Naga (Dragon Fish), Barramundi, Saratoga, PlaTapad, Kelisa, Siluk, Kayangan, Peyang Tangkelese, Aruwana, atau Arwana. Habitat asal ikan ini adalah di sungai besar berarus deras. Spesis ini banyak ditemui di Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Burma dan Thailand.

Ikan Laga

Ikan ini digemari kanak-kanak, ia mempunyai keistimewaan tersendiri, selain memiliki rupa cantik ia berlaga apabila diadu.

Polis dari selatan London, England itu memaklumkan, anak wanita berkenaan, Santre Sanzchez Gayle yang baru berusia 15 tahun ditahan kerana dituduh membunuh seorang wanita, Gulistan Subasi, 26, di Hackney, Clapton, London.

Hyacinth diminta datang ke balai polis untuk membantu siasatan kerana undang-undang di England menegah remaja berusia kurang 16 tahun disoal siasat tanpa ditemani individu yang ada pertalian darah dengan tertuduh.

Bagaimanapun, Hyacinth mulanya enggan pergi ke balai untuk membantu siasatan polis. Dia sukar menerima kenyataan anaknya terbabit dengan pembunuhan itu.

Manakan tidak, sebelum ini seorang lagi anak lelaki Hyacinth yang berlainan bapa dipenjara atas kesalahan membunuh. Dengan penahanan Gayle, bermakna dia ‘kehilangan’ dua anak lelaki.

Anak sulungnya, Lloywen Carty, 31, melakukan pembunuhan pada 2004, manakala adik tirinya Lloywen, DOnnel Carty, 24, melakukannya pada 2006.

Lloywen dan Donnel yang berlainan ibu, masing-masing berusia 24 dan 19 tahun ketika melakukan jenayah itu.

Lagu-lagu seperti Kamelia, Teratai, Sejuta Wajah, Hilang Gelap Terbitlah Terang cukup memberikan kesan yang begitu mendalam terhadap industri rock yang baru menapak dirantau sini ketika itu. Menjadi masyhur di Nusantara melalui lagu Kamelia (lagu asal Ebiet G. Ade) yang telah diberi suntikan irama yang lebih ‘keras‘ dengan suara nyaring dan serak basah Ramli Sarip.Sweet Charity juga terkenal dengan road show mereka di seluruh negara pada 1985 bersama Kumpulan Blues Gang yang ditaja oleh pengeluar kasut North Star.

Pada tahun 1986, Sweet Charity juga turut membintangi filem yang bertemakan cetak rompak iaitu filem Kembara Seniman Jalanan arahan Nasir Jani. Pada tahun yang sama,Ramli Sarip berpisah dengan kumpulan Sweet Charty dan menukar haluan menjadi penyanyi solo dengan album solonya yang pertama – RAMLI SARIP yang popular dengan lagu Panah Beracun. Anggota-anggota yang lain masih meneruskan kumpulan Sweet Charity,sehingga lahirnya sebuah album dengan menampilkan seorang penyanyi wanita bernama Zaitun,yang berjudul ‘Sweet Charity ’88‘. Walaupun mereka telah lama tidak bersatu, tetapi pada tahun 1995,mereka telah melakukan ‘reunion‘ dan bersama atas nama Sweet Charity dan yang paling masyhur sewaktu di Stadium Negara, KL. Tampil dengan irama rock sejati tetapi masih mengekalkan unsur-unsur kemelayuan sebagai contoh seperti lagu Bulat-Bulat, Jangan Tunggu Lama, Zakiah.
